Tips for incorporating self-care routine with an infant and a toddler

I am 6 months postpartum and finally finding a little time to get back into a skin, beauty, hair routine. It is so tough to find time after a long day with the kids or at work, navigating bedtime, some quality time with my husband to then squeeze in some self-care. Here are some tips I try to incorporate:

  • Pre-schedule hair or nail appointments weeks out and get a babysitter + backup babysitter

  • No matter what I always make sure to incorporate a quick hot shower and good face wash. This may sound so simple but especially in those newborn days it can be quite challenging to find the time. I keep the Bouncer BabyBjörn next to the shower so if I he isn't sleeping or I don't have help with him I can stick him in there to get a quick shower in.

  • Moisturize! If I don't have time for anything else I always lather up my body with oil, lotion and make sure I wash my face and put on lotion, SPF and ideally at least one serum. I also put an oil treatment in my hair with all the shedding I am experiencing. This can be done in less than 5 mins.
